Vet-IQ Fleaguard Turkey is a dietary treat with garlic and brewer's-yeast-type ingredients believed to act as natural flea deterrents, and it is not a flea treatment or insecticide.

A dietary deterrent, explicitly not an insecticide

This works, if at all, by making a dog's scent or blood less appealing to fleas through diet — a genuinely different and much weaker mechanism than an actual insecticide or a veterinary-grade flea treatment, and it should never be relied on as the sole defence against an active flea infestation.

For genuine flea prevention or an active infestation, a proper veterinary-recommended flea treatment is what actually protects a dog — this treat is, at most, a minor dietary supplement to that, not a substitute for it.

• ✓A dietary deterrent, not an insecticide. Explicitly stated as such.
• ✓Not a substitute for a proper veterinary flea treatment.
• ✓Turkey flavour.
