Two things change as a dog ages: joints and metabolism
Older dogs' joints have taken years of wear, and their metabolism slows down at the same time — a combination that calls for a different formula than the standard adult recipe. This senior version adds glucosamine and chondroitin sourced from cartilage in the fresh chicken and fish, alongside a slightly lower fat content than the standard adult recipe.
Fresh chicken, chicken meal, herring and flounder remain the protein backbone, with the same grain-free lentil and pea base for carbohydrates.
