Bio PetActive Biodent Hexidine is a water-additive for oral and dental care in cats and dogs. You add it to the drinking water — no brush, no wrestling — and it works on plaque, tartar and bad breath while your pet simply drinks as normal.
Dental care for the pet that won't be brushed
Brushing is the gold standard for a pet's teeth — but plenty of cats and dogs simply won't allow it, and a routine you can't keep up is no routine at all. A water additive is the answer for those animals: the care happens every time they drink, with nothing for you to do beyond topping up the bowl.
It works on two fronts. Chlorhexidine gluconate is a well-established antiseptic that reduces the bacteria behind plaque and helps limit the tartar buildup that leads to gum disease. Zinc gluconate tackles the smell directly, inhibiting the volatile sulphur compounds that cause bad breath. Together they target both the cause of dental disease and its most obvious symptom, with a noticeable effect on breath within a few days.

How to dose it
Dogs under 12.5 kg: 5 ml per litre.
Dogs over 12.5 kg: 10 ml per litre.
Cats: 5 ml per litre.
Prepare it fresh each day with clean drinking water, and make sure it's the water your pet actually drinks from. Effects show within 2–4 days of daily use.
Stick to the stated dose — more is not better with an antiseptic. If your pet refuses to drink the treated water, offer plain water instead and try a smaller amount next time so the taste change is gentler; a pet that stops drinking is a bigger problem than plaque.
A water additive helps manage everyday oral hygiene, but it isn't a substitute for veterinary dental care. If you see red or bleeding gums, a broken tooth, difficulty eating, or heavy tartar already formed, book a dental check — those need a vet, not just a rinse. For ongoing daily use, it's worth mentioning to your vet at the next visit.
