Choosing the right cage for your pet

One thing to check before you buy for a small rodent: bar spacing. Dwarf hamsters and young mice can squeeze through gaps that hold a Syrian hamster or gerbil perfectly well, so match the cage's bar spacing to your specific pet — the box lists the figure.
