Royal Canin Persian is a complete dry food for adult Persians, and the first thing you will notice is the kibble: almond-shaped rather than round. That is not decoration — it is the whole reason the food exists in this form.
Why the kibble is that shape
A Persian's flat face comes with a jaw that does not line up the way other cats' do — the lower jaw sits forward of the upper. Most cats grasp food between their teeth. A Persian largely cannot, so it scoops instead, pressing food up with the underside of the tongue.
Round kibble rolls away from that motion. The almond shape gives the tongue a flat face to work against, so the food is picked up rather than chased around the bowl. If you have watched a Persian give up on a meal it clearly wanted, this is usually why.

Living with the coat
Persians carry the longest, densest coat of any cat, and it does not maintain itself. Daily brushing is not optional with this breed — a Persian coat mats close to the skin within days, and mats are painful and often need clipping out under sedation once they form.
Brushing also removes the hair your cat would otherwise swallow, which does more for hairballs than any food can on its own. The two work together. Flat faces also mean tears drain poorly, so the folds beneath the eyes need wiping clean regularly to prevent staining and skin irritation.
Heat and flat faces. A shortened muzzle leaves less airway to cool air on the way in, so Persians handle high temperatures less well than other cats. Keep somewhere cool and shaded available through summer, and avoid encouraging vigorous play in the heat of the day. A cat breathing with its mouth open is never normal — unlike dogs, cats do not pant to cool down. Treat it as an emergency and call a vet.
Feeding it
A wide, shallow bowl suits a Persian better than a deep one — there is less for the face to push into, and the kibble stays where the tongue can reach it.
Change foods over about a week, and weigh the daily amount from the pack chart.
Fresh water always available. Hairball management depends on things moving through steadily, and that needs hydration as much as fibre.
