Josera Help Renal is a veterinary diet formulated for chronic renal insufficiency, restricting phosphorus and using controlled protein alongside botanical extracts traditionally associated with kidney support.
Why phosphorus, specifically, is restricted
Failing kidneys lose the ability to clear phosphorus efficiently, and rising phosphorus levels are one of the main drivers of kidney disease getting worse over time. This recipe keeps phosphorus notably low at 0.45%, well under what a standard adult cat food would typically contain.
Oregano, ginger, rosemary, nettle, milk thistle and cranberry are included as traditional botanical support, alongside B vitamins to help offset the increased urinary losses common in kidney disease.

How to feed it
For chronic renal insufficiency, initially fed for up to 6 months before reassessment.
This is a veterinary diet with a specific medical purpose, not an everyday maintenance food. It should only be fed to a cat with a diagnosed condition, on a vet's advice, and reviewed with the vet regularly rather than fed indefinitely on your own judgement.
