Beaphar Line-On Dimethicare with Aloe Vera uses dimethicone, a silicone compound, to physically immobilise fleas, ticks, lice and mites rather than poisoning them. Part of our cat pharmacy range.
A physical mechanism, not a poison
Dimethicone works by coating pests in a silicone film that physically blocks their spiracles and joints, immobilising and suffocating them rather than acting as a neurotoxic insecticide — a genuinely different mechanism from Beaphar's fipronil-based treatments.
Aloe vera is included alongside the dimethicone, soothing the skin during application, and this physical mechanism means resistance is far less of a concern than with chemical insecticides.
